Strike strikes Back! (Trailer)

Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott return to the BBC on December 16, with the release of a new trailer for the fifth season. This season is based on J.K. Rowling’s book The Ink Black Heart.

In the story, Edie Ledwell, co-creator of the popular cartoon The Ink Black Heart, arrives at the detective agency urgently requesting to speak with Robin. Initially unsure about the situation, Robin learns that Edie is being harassed by a mysterious online figure known as Anomie. Desperate for help, Edie seeks Robin’s assistance in uncovering Anomie’s true identity.

Robin decides that the agency is unable to assist with the case and dismisses it from her mind. However, just a few days later, she is shocked to learn that Edie has been attacked with a taser and subsequently murdered in Highgate Cemetery—the very setting of The Ink Black Heart.

This shocking turn of events draws Robin and Strike into a complex investigation to uncover the true identity of Anomie. As they navigate a labyrinth of online aliases, business entanglements, and family conflicts, the case pushes them to their limits. The trailer teases explosive developments, both literally and figuratively, hinting at the high-stakes drama to come.
