Emily and the Professor Together on Stage

A new play has been announced, and I think the lead duo makes it particularly intriguing. Lily Collins (“Emily in Paris”) and Álvaro Morte (“Money Heist”) will make their West End debuts in Bess Wohl’s explosive two-hander, Barcelona. The production is directed by Lynette Linton, whose last work was Blues for an Alabama Sky at the National Theatre.

Plot

Late one night in Barcelona, an American tourist accompanies a charming Spaniard back to his place. What starts as a casual one-night stand swiftly escalates into something far more dangerous, as personal and political tensions collide with disastrous consequences. Barcelona is a seductive thriller, both humorous and provocative, that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats. It delves into the illusions we create about ourselves and the stark reality of who we truly are.

The play will run for 12 weeks only, from 22/10/24 to 11/01/25, at London’s Duke of York’s Theatre.
