First glimpse at Jenna Coleman in new thriller The Jetty
The BBC has revealed the first glimpse of Jenna Coleman in the highly anticipated new crime drama “The Jetty.” This series, written by Cat Jones and produced by Firebird Pictures, is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2024.
Plot
“The Jetty” is a four-part TV series featuring a large fire that destroys a holiday home in a scenic Lancashire lake town. The protagonist, Ember Manning, a rookie detective, searches the connection between this fire, a journalist’s podcast on a cold case of a missing person, and an illicit ‘love’ triangle involving a young man and two underage girls.
However, as Ember approaches the truth, it endangers her life, forcing her to reconsider everything she believed about her past, present, and the town she has always regarded as home.
“The Jetty” is as much a story about growing up as it is a detective thriller. It delves into deep questions about sexual morality, identity, and memory, focusing on areas that the Me Too movement hasn’t fully addressed.
Jenna Coleman, point: “Working with the BBC and Firebird Pictures on bringing the complex and enigmatic character of Ember Manning to life has been an incredible experience. I can’t wait for everyone to meet this new heroine and to find out what’s lurking beneath the surface of The Jetty.”
Cast
Alongside Jenna Coleman, the cast also features Tom Glynn-Carney from “House of the Dragon,” where he portrays Prince Aegon Targaryen in the acclaimed HBO fantasy series. Other notable cast members include Archie Renaux (“The Greatest Beer Run”), Laura Marcus (“The Great Escaper”), Bo Bragason (“The Ballad of Renegade Nell”), Amelia Bullmore (“Happy Valley”), Ruby Stokes (“Lockwood & Co”), and Ralph Ineson (“The Witch”).
Later this month, Jenna Coleman’s new movie “Jackdaw,” co-starring Oliver Jackson-Cohen, is set to be released in theaters.
