Plot of new season

In the upcoming fourth season of the series, the story unfolds against the backdrop of springtime in 1940, a pivotal moment in global history. James (Nicholas Ralph) and his wife, Helen (Rachel Shenton), contemplate the possibility of starting a family while wrestling with the uncertainty of James potentially being called to duty in the Royal Air Force.

Meanwhile, Siegfried (Samuel West) faces the challenge of managing his household in the absence of his brother Tristan, who has departed to serve in the military. Simultaneously, he is mentoring a new veterinary trainee named Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose), introducing complications for everyone involved.

Another noteworthy addition to the cast for this season is Neve McIntosh (“Shetland”), portraying the character Miss Harbottle, a highly efficient bookkeeper.

Lastly, in this season, we can expect the friendship between Mrs. Hall (Anna Madeley) and Helen to blossom even further.
