“Fifteen-Love”, a new drama centered around the world of professional tennis, has unveiled its trailer on Prime Video. The series explores the story of a talented young tennis player (Ella Lily Hyland) who receives guidance from a nonconformist coach (Aidan Turner). With a six-part narrative, the British show delves into the demanding physical and psychological challenges that come with competing in the high-stakes realm of professional sports.

Hania Elkington, the creator, suggests: “From Simone Biles to Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu to Pam Shriver, the pressures and realities of being at the top of your game on the world stage are finally breaking through to us, making us look again at the price our young prodigies can pay for the goals they work so hard to achieve”. 

The cast also includes: Anna Chancellor (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Jess Darrow (Encanto), Tom Varey (Ridley Road), Lorenzo Richelmy (Marco Polo), Manon Azem (Your Honor), Elizabeth Berrington (The Nevers), Amar Chadha-Patel (Willow), Steffan Rhodri (House of the Dragon) and Maria Almeida (The Strays).

Plot

Fifteen Love revolves around the world of elite tennis and introduces Justine Pearce, a former rising star whose remarkable success at the age of 17 propelled her and her coach, Glenn Lapthorn, to the quarter-finals of the French Open. However, during the intense scrutiny of the event, Justine suffered a devastating wrist injury, causing her dreams to unravel.

Fast forward five years, and Justine finds herself employed at the very tennis academy where she once trained. When her coach returns triumphantly after guiding another player to a Grand Slam victory, Justine’s emotions are stirred, pushing her towards a perilous path of self-destructive behavior.

As tensions escalate, Justine reaches a breaking point and makes a serious accusation to the police shortly before the Wimbledon tournament. She claims that Lapthorn manipulated her into a harmful and exploitative relationship, which ultimately led to the career-ending injury she suffered.

Fifteen-Love premieres on Prime Video on July 21st.
