Redmayne & Buckley on their stage version of “Cabaret” (vid)

The Kit Kat Club in London’s West End is to open its doors on November with the musical Cabaret, starring Eddie Redmayne as The Emcee and Jessie Buckley as Sally Bowles. The two actors were hosted in the last episode of Graham Norton discussing the new production.

This version of “Cabaret”  will be the second time Redmayne has played this part. He first gave it a go at 19, in a student production at the Edinburgh Fringe festival just after he left Eton.

The musical’s director, Rebecca Frecknall, suggested on the site of Kit Kat “It’s such a privilege to have the opportunity to direct “Cabaret”, a show that has always been dear to my heart. It’s thrilling to be able to approach this classic and important musical at a time when its themes and atmosphere feel so contemporary and resonant. I’m in awe of my incredible creative team who have come together to create a bold new production as well as a new ‘Kit Kat Club’, a bespoke home where we can truly embrace and unlock the world of “Cabaret” for a new audience”

“Cabaret” is at the Kit Kat Club from 15 November.
