Downton Abbey returns for a Second Screen Movie

After the box office success of the first movie (budget around $20 millions – revenue $194 millions), “Downton Abbey” returns for a big-screen sequel this Christmas.

Based on the facebook’s post ” Julian Fellowes and the entire Downton cast are back for #DowntonAbbey2″. The annoucement also refers some surprises, since the cast will also include Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Laura Haddock (Da Vinci’s Demons), the French actor Nathalie Baye and Dominic West (The Wire, The Affair). Allen Leech however declared that Lily James won’t return – at least for this sequel- since “[Fellowes] was like, ‘There’s not enough room.’ It would be a bit weird if she [randomly showed up] and was like, ‘Hi, I hear the royals are here!’”.

The initial film followed a royal visit to the Crawley family and Downton staff from the King and Queen of England. It’s unclear if another distinguished personage will visit the estate.
