Sarah Polley Returns Directing ‘Women Talking’
Sarah Polley returns directing and writing the script of the novel-based drama “Women Talking”. The novel was written by Miriam Toews and was published in 2018. It follows a group of women in an isolated Mennonite religious colony in Bolivia as they struggle to reconcile their faith with a series of sexual assaults committed by the colony’s men. This is the first time that Polley will direct a feature film since “Take The Waltz” (2011). Between these two movies, she had also directed the documentary Stories We Tell (2012).
Frances McDormand will play the leading role of the movie. The two-oscar (potentially three-oscar) winner actress will be a producer as well. It is unknown yet if Polley will also play a part. The last appearances of Sarah were in “Splice” (2009) and a small part in “Mr. Nobody” (2009).
