“Another Round” is the Big Winner of European Film Awards
Thomas Vinterberg’s “Another Round” (original title “Druk”) was the big winner of the European Movie Awards 2020. In a virtual ceremony, the movie won four of the major categories: Best Movie, Best Director – Thomas Vinterberg, Best European Actor – Mads Mikkelsen and Best Scenario – Thomas Vinterberg &Tobias Lindholm.
The movie starts with four friends discussing about a theory that a small amount of alcohol in the blood can increase human’s capabilities. These four friends, all weary high school teachers, heartened by that theory, embark on an experiment to maintain a constant level of intoxication throughout the workday. The theory seems to work, but soon the situation will be out of their control.
Other categories’ winners include, Paula Beer that won the award for Best European Actress for her performance in “Undine” and French film “The Big Hit” that was awarded as the best comedy.
